Privacy Policy
Version 2026-08-09 · Last updated August 9, 2026
1. Who we are
Range HQ ("Range HQ", "we", "us") operates a shooting-sports platform covering personal training journals, club membership management, competition scoring, tournament registration, and optional social features. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it, wherever in the world you use Range HQ.
For personal accounts, journal entries, and profile data, Range HQ is the data controller. For a club's member roster and competition records, the club or federation you belong to is the data controller and Range HQ acts as their data processor.
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you use Range HQ, we process:
- Account & identity: email address, sign-in method, first/last name, date of birth and sex (optional profile fields), country, public handle, Range HQ ID.
- Club & competition data: your name and membership number as held by your club, club role, competition entries, scores, and tournament registration details.
- Personal journal data (yours alone): shooting session logs, firearm and ammunition inventory (including serial numbers), ranges you save, target photos, equipment notes, and optional AI-assisted session analysis.
- Vision scoring photos: target-card images you capture or upload for scoring. Cards you keep stay in your Range HQ photo locker (Supabase storage) for journal history, club scoring, and shares you choose.
- Social features (16+ only): friend connections, direct messages, squad membership and squad message-board posts, block lists, and reports you submit about other users.
- Payments: billing contact and payment metadata processed by Stripe (we do not store full card numbers).
- Support & moderation: feedback/bug reports and moderation action records.
- Technical data: device/browser information and error logs collected automatically for security and reliability.
3. Secure cloud diagram detect
When you score a multi-target card, Range HQ may send the card image through a secure, authenticated cloud detect step so we can find each diagram on the card. Scoring maths and hole measurement still run on your device afterward. The detect hop is performed by our infrastructure (Supabase Edge Functions) calling a private inference provider listed on our subprocessor list. Your browser never talks to that provider directly and never holds their API key.
In the current product, detect images are used for inference only on that hop (no vendor Active Learning auto-upload). Scored cards and shares continue to load from Range HQ storage. If detect is unavailable (for example you are offline), we fail closed with Retry / Retake — we do not invent mock scores.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with infrastructure subprocessors and with your club/federation for data they control. See our subprocessor list.
5. Changes
We update the version date when this policy changes materially and ask signed-in users to re-confirm.
6. Contact
Questions via the in-app Feedback tool or your club administrator for club-controlled data.
